Our
mission is to create a beautiful community space for local Weber
artisans. The collective showcases artisan and crafters' work that is
handmade by people who live or work in Weber County, hosts events, classes and
provides an opportunity for artists to join a like-minded affordable community.
The
Local Artisan Collective is owned and operated by Stephanie & Jenny;
moms, entrepreneurs & artists that met while selling their art at local
art festivals and boutiques. Over the years, they have each created a loyal
following. They also enjoy helping other artists to succeed. They are working
on creating an amazing community space that will offer local artists a venue to
sell their work, teach classes to the community & have studio space for
artists to work. They have found a delightful old building that is
currently being gutted and retrofitted in a revitalized area of downtown
Ogden.
Stephanie
graduated college, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology and Art.
With a passion for giving back to the community she worked in social work for
17 years. She has now been working the last 7 years with the arts in her own
business, Our
Children's Earth, LLC. She loves expressing her creativity while
being eco friendly and staying home with her children. She is excited to help
create this amazing community space to support others to accomplish their
dreams.
Jenny
is a junior high wood shop teacher who married René, a 16th generation
silversmith from Colombia. They create hand crafted fine jewelry and sell it at
art festivals, through their business, Galleon's
Gold Jewelry, LLC. Rene also teaches silversmithing and jewelry
making classes at our shop.
Together,
Stephanie and Jenny are thrilled to build a fabulous space where local artists
can sell their work, others can learn various art mediums through classes and
we can all do amazing things working together.
